Boy Abunda never lived in a condominium. He lived in an apartment and in a townhouse. Today, he lives in a nice, spacious house he calls his home. In other words, when it comes to choosing a residence, he cherishes space and privacy. Despite the convenience, amenities and the popularity of condo living, he never had an inclination for it. He feels there’s something weird about living in a condo. He thinks a neighbor is just a wall away that he can practically hear what he or she is up to, and vice-versa.

But his apprehensions disappeared when he talked to his long-time friend Gwen Ku Wong, president of LK Global Realty and Development Corporation, the company behind the Cherry Orchard Suites Condominium development in Congressional Village, Quezon City. Gwen convinced him about the beauty, the benefits and the fun of condominium living.

He has known Gwen and her family for more than a decade. Gwen’s family is into garments and construction and recently ventured in real estate and education. She was with her mom when she talked to Boy about the possibility of endorsing Cherry Orchard Suites. Boy listened and was excited!

Cherry Orchard Suites is located behind Cherry Foodarama supermarket along Congressional Avenue. It is a two-cluster building, each cluster only eight-stories high. The relaxing architectural design is inspired by nature, particularly the Cherry Blossom or Sakura, the national flower of Japan. “Cherry Blossoms evoke a light but very modern feel. The ambience is relaxing, just like what you want in a home,” says Gwen.

Prospective buyers can choose from a one-bedroom, 22-sqm unit equipped with a full kitchen and bathroom amenities designed like a five-star hotel suite, or a 40-sqm two-bedroom unit or a 44-sqm two-bedroom unit. The bigger spaces are comfortable and tailored to the needs of growing families (spacious living room, dining area for four, and master bedrooms with enough space for queen-sized beds and large closet).

LK Global is a unique realty company because its projects have concepts. To illustrate, a development in Lipa, Batangas combines education and residential needs in one complex.

Gwen got this idea when they participated in a trade fair and met many Chinese nationals who were interested in studying in the Philippines because of the more affordable cost of education and the Filipinos’ proficiency in English. “It would be much cheaper for them to study in the Philippines and find work in the US and Europe, than in going directly to the US and Europe to study and then work,” says Gwen.

Another project they are working on is the Treasure Towers in Sta. Mesa, Manila. It will be a three-tower condominium-hotel that will house a Museum of Chinese Antiquities. Imagine living in a place with not just history, but heritage from the oldest civilization in the world!

But Boy enthused that the efforts of LK Global impressed him so much that he overcame his initial trepidation about living in a condo.

The prime location of Cherry Orchard Suites is a given. The wonderful Zen-inspired interiors are big pluses. Putting in two air-conditioners, a range with an oven, and a refrigerator in every unit was a stroke of genius! Boy Abunda’s unit will be his sanctuary, his home away from home. It’ll be his city getaway where he can communicate with his inner self.
