Ai Ai de las Alas and Pokwang will hopefully be together in one movie project. At a dinner arranged by Kris Aquino, Ai Ai and Pokwang learned that they have things in common. Pokwang, affectionately called Pokie by both Kris and Ai Ai, was ecstatic when she got the invitation from Kris to bond and have dinner with Ai Ai. “When Kris asked me, ‘Pokwang okey ka ba dinner with Ai Ai,’ natulala ako for 10 seconds. I was surprised and nervous. Ang sabi ko, ano kaya ang mangyayari sa amin dito,” said Pokwang. In her six years with ABS-CBN, Pokwang has never had a chance to be with Ai Ai in any of the ABS-CBN programs or in any shows outside of ABS-CBN. And to Pokwang the meeting with Ai Ai was a dream come true. Over dinner, they discovered that they were kindred fairies. “Nakita ko kay Pokie, ‘yong pagiging nanay ko. ‘Yong anak niya dati nakita ko sa ABS sabi sa akin, ‘Hi tita.’ Sabi ko, ‘kanino kang anak?’ Sabi niya, ‘kay Pokwang po.’ At ngayon na nagkita na kami ni Pokwang, nakita ko kung gaano siya kabait at ‘yong sincerity niya, mararamdaman,” explained Ai Ai. “Sobra akong maka ina at maka anak,” Pokwang added. Both Ai Ai and Pokwang put premium on their families first. “Our children are our treasures,” Pokwang said. “They are our priority,” enthused Ai Ai. Ai Ai and Pokwang will soon be working in a movie under Star Cinema. Ai Ai would love a comedy horror, while Pokwang, prefers a fantasy comedy horror with action. And guess who they want to be their leading man? Robin Padilla. And if Ai Ai is showbiz Comedy Concert Queen, then who is Pokwang? “Prinsesa ng Masa,” said Ai Ai. Bravo to Kris Aquino, the Queen of all Media, who made all this possible. Sister Act Is it true that Cristine Reyes did not campaign for Ara Mina in the last elections? Ara who lost in her bid to become a councilor of Quezon City denied rumors that younger sis Cristine did not help in her campaign. But some people say that Cristine is disheartened her Ate Ara did not win. “Yes, masama ang loob ko,” said Ara of her loss in the elections. “I did my part naman.” Ara admitted she faced several problems with her candidacy. “Wala akong makinarya. People also got confused with my name. Hanap nila Hazel Reyes. ‘Yong iba naman hinahanap Mathay, ‘yong iba Mina,” she said. Wags alleged Cristine contributed to Ara’s loss because, she left Ate Ara hanging in the air. Cristine denied this. “Bakit sinabi ko ba sa mga tao na ‘wag iboto? Nakita nila na tumulong naman ako kahit papaano kay Ate,” Cristine explained. She also said she knew her obligations as a sister. Ara and Cristine are scheduled to tour the US of A, in a concert titled Sister Act. (Here they will surely put their act together!) An inspiring friendship Very few people know that Vice Ganda and Coco Martin have a special friendship that dates back to the time when Coco worked as a waiter at a restaurant and Vice Ganda a sing-along master. Their paths crossed when Vice was invited to perform during a Christmas party by the restaurant where Coco worked. And on first meeting, “nilait-lait nga daw ni Vice si Coco!” The unpleasant first meeting led to Coco frequenting Vice Ganda’s shows and becoming one of Vice’s loyal audiences. The need for greener pastures led Coco to Canada where he worked as janitor and housekeeper. When he came back in 2005, after nine months of work, Coco and Vice renewed their ties. And always, Vice became Coco’s shoulder to lean on and vice versa. Coco and Vice call each other Bes, for bestfriend. Today, both Coco and Vice have carved a name in showbiz. Coco is one of the most sought after actors. And Vice who hosts Showtime has just finished a blockbuster concert at the Araneta Coliseum. There are also talks that Coco is thinking of producing an indie movie with Vice Ganda as lead. This is an inspiring friendship!
