Johnny Delgado’s wife busies self with new film

MANILA, Philippines – Director Laurice Guillen had to work the day after the funeral of her husband, critically acclaimed actor Johnny Delgado, but she was positive that he would approve of it.
In her live interview on “The Buzz” Sunday, Guillen said Delgado knew about her film, “I Love You, Goodbye,” Star Cinema’s entry to the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival, and she said he loved its story.
“The day after the funeral, I had a schedule, so, on with the show. Johnny would have expected me to do that. He loved this movie. He knew about this project. He was excited. Gandang ganda siya sa istorya,” she said.
Guillen was still filming the drama movie when Delgado, 61, passed away after his long battle with lymphoma.
Delgado, Juan Marasigan Feleo in real life, was a noted actor and writer. The actor last appeared in Star Cinema’s “You Got Me” opposite Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby. His recent television roles were GMA 7’s “Kamandag” and ABS-CBN’s “Maria Flordeluna” and “May Bukas Pa.”
