Kris Aquino is all set to go back to work

It is only now that Kris Aquino is feeling the exhaustion due to the grueling three-month campaign season for her older brother, Senator Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino who is running as President for the 2010 National Elections. In her interview with Showbiz News Ngayon immediately after leaving the polling precinct last May 10, the Queen of All Media said, “Siguro lahat naman ng nasa posisyon namin ganito ‘yung nararamdaman ngayon. Lahat ng sakit sa buto ngayon lang lalabas talaga.”
Nevertheless, Kris was very happy with the people’s attitude regarding the recently-concluded national poll. “‘Yun lang naman talaga ang idinasal ko, na kung ano man ang kagustuhan ng sambayanang Pilipino, galangin sana. ‘Yun na talaga ang true essence ng ating demokrasya.” Senator Aquino is now leading in the ongoing national vote tally with his rivals conceding one after another.
However, with Kris’s promise of all out support for her brother’s political aspiration, she had to forego her work on television for a while, particularly as host of SNN and lead star of Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo so she could join her brother’s campaign across the country. Now that the campaign and the election are done, Kris said she is happy to go back to work. “This week humingi ako ng bakasyon so sa Sabado na uli ako magtatrabaho. So Monday (May 17), (I’m) back in SNN. Then the week after that, balik na sa Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. So back to life as it normally was.”
Kris further shared that she will look back on this historical election, being the first nationwide automated poll in the country’s history, with so much learning. “If there is one thing I learned sa eleksyon na ito it’s not enough to be popular. Sa lahat ng interviews na napakinggan ko, sa lahat ng questions na ibinato sa mga kandidatong sinuportahan ko, nakita ko na ‘wag akong mag-ilusyon na kakayanin ko ito dahil ang dami dami kong dapat matutunan bago ko ialay ‘yung sarili ko sa bayan. Kapag artista ka, reyna ka. Pero dito, una kapag ikaw ang nangangampanya at ikaw na ang naihalal, alipin ka na ng tao. Totoo ‘yun, at ‘yun talaga ang tamang attitude, na alipin ka ng lahat ng bumoto para sa iyo at ng lahat ng pinagsisilbihan mo.”
