Kris back in Manila, faces intrigues

Controversial actress-host and the President’s youngest sister Kris Aquino is back in the country Friday morning after taking a 3-week vacation in the United States.
Kris with her two sons, Joshua and James “Baby Bimby” Yap Jr., touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 113 from Los Angeles.
“(The flight?) Fine,” Kris briefly said when asked by one of the reporters who waited for her arrival.
Kris who had been very active during the campaign period for her brother President Benignoy “Noynoy” Aquino III, left the country last June 8 after announcing her impending separation from husband, pro-basketball player James Yap.
Kris who spent time with his sons in Orlando, Florida missed the first State of the Nation Address last July 26.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN, Kris said she will return to the Philippines in time for the death anniversary of her mother, former President Cory Aquino, on August 1 (Sunday).
Before returning to Manila, Kris refused to grant the ABS-CBN North America News Bureau an interview saying that she promised her close friend and talent manager Boy Abunda the exclusive details of her vacation.
On Friday, Kris was welcomed by Abunda at NAIA. Kris stayed at the airport’s presidential lounge and granted an exclusive interview with Abunda for ABS-CBN shows SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon and The Buzz, both programs she previously hosted.
Abunda earlier said that Kris will address all the controversies hounding her in an exclusive interview once back in Manila.
Aside from her marriage with Yap, Kris will also answer reports linking her to politicians and young actors as well as the recent pregnancy issue.
Even before her interview with Abunda, Kris was caught on camera saying that she has a flat tummy, downplaying the pregnancy rumors.
“Wala akong tiyan,” Kris said.
Separation
While enjoying their stay in the United States, ABS-CBN News reported that Kris will be seeking an annulment from basketball player James.
According to Atty. Anna Liza Logan of the Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, the law firm retained by Aquino , the TV host is not seeking legal separation.
“We will have the court decide na yung marriage was void from the beginning,” she said.
Logan said they are now preparing the petition for the declaration of nullity of marriage or the annulment of marriage.
Once the decision becomes final, the parties are free to enter into separate partnerships.
Now that she’s back, Kris will be dealing with her lawyers to sign some petition papers to end her 5-year marriage with James.
New show
Despite leaving celebrity talk shows The Buzz and SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon last month, Kris is far from leaving the world of show business.
On Wednesday, ABS-CBN management announced that Kris will be hosting the new noontime game-variety show “Pilipinas, Win na Win!”
Aside from Aquino, “Pilipinas Win na Win” will also be hosted by Robin Padilla and “Wowowee” female hosts Pokwang, Valerie Concepcion and Mariel Rodriguez.
On Friday, Kris is set to meet and rehearse with Padilla and other hosts of “Pilipinas, Win na Win!”
In a short interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Pokwang bared that she and the other hosts will be having a rehearsal Friday afternoon for the newest show.
“Bukas live kami, last day ng Wowowee, after ng live show diretso na sa rehearsal, ” Pokwang said.
