MANILA – Entertainment show “The Buzz” threw an advance birthday party for one of its hosts, Boy Abunda, on Sunday. The celebrity friends of Abunda, who was born on Oct. 27, 1955 in Eastern Samar, led by co-hosts Ruffa Gutierrez and Kris Aquino greeted the talk show host. Kris’ three siblings – Ballsy, Pinky and presidential aspirant Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III – also extended their greetings as well as their gratitude to him.
Ballsy and Pinky made a special appearance on "The Buzz" for Abunday's birthday. Ballsy said for the Aquino siblings Abunda is “more than angel” and a “living saint for our family.” She thanked Abunda for always lending a helping hand especially when their mother, former president Corazon Aquino, passed away more than two months ago. Abunda was one of those who helped in preparing Mrs. Aquino’s wake. Even when their mom was still around, Ballsy said Abunda was ready to help especially on issues involving Kris. Abunda, also a reputable talent manager, is one of Kris’ closest friends in show business. The two have been working together for more than a decade now. Pinky, meanwhile, thanked Abunda for being a “good influence” on Kris. She added that she and her four other siblings consider him as part of their family. “Anim na tayo… You gained limang kapatid. I’m so thankful. I’m so lucky na binigay ka sa amin,” she said. Abunda turned emotional as he thanked the Aquino siblings for accepting him wholeheartedly. “There were so many struggles… there were so many questions unanswered in my life… The fact na ako ay tinatanggap ng Aquino family bilang isa sa kanila, [ito ay] nagpapaligaya sa akin dahil nadagdagan at buong buo na po ang aking buhay,” he said. Abunda said he has been so blessed that he already “stopped wishing for myself.” He said: “Wala na akong mahihiling pa. Basta masaya at malusog ang aking ina… pangalawa, kapayapaan ng loob, katahimikan, pagmamahal.” He added that he is also striving to become a better and “more forgiving” person.
