Andi Eigenmann has learned that her dual characters in the teleserye Agua Bendita are being spoofed by Showtime judges Vice Ganda and Gladys Reyes. Every morning on Showtime, rival judges Vice and Gladys would mimic Andi as Agua and Bendita, much to the audiences delight. During the press launch of her newest endorsement, The Ramp Crossing, Andi laughed when she expressed her flattery over Vice and Gladys’s spoof. “Opo minsan nakikita ko sila. Ha ha ha! Hindi po ako madalas nakakapanood ng Showtime talaga pero nababalitaan ko sa mga friends ko. Babanggitin nila, ‘Hoy alam mo ba si Vice Ganda tsaka si Gladys Reyes ginagaya ka sa Showtime?’ Siyempre natatawa po ako. Kung pangit man ‘yung pagkakagaya nila o kung ano man, okay lang sa akin. At least ginagaya nila ako, na I’m making an impact. Ha ha ha!”
The newest primetime darling clarified that she finds no reason to feel offended that her acting is being used as material for comedy. “Kung may mga nagsasabi sa akin na ayusin ko ‘yung acting ko or what, I’ll take that in mind. Pero ‘yung ginagawa kasi nila spoof lang naman kaya okay lang. Just the fact na ginagaya ka ng mga tao is already flattering.” With Andi’s portrayal as the reserved Agua character, the young star would deliver her dialogue in a soft-spoken manner. This is very much similar to the acting technique made famous by Andi’s mother, award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose. Is Andi worried about being accused of copying her mom’s style? “In real life I talk fast so that’s the difference between my mom and me. But with my Agua character, dapat kasi mahinhin siya kaya malamya magsalita. Sabi ni mom ‘wag ko daw gawin ‘yun kasi that’s her trademark. Kaya tuloy nakakakita sila ng resemblance sa acting namin.Pero joke lang naman ‘yun.” Like any showbiz child, Andi also experienced the pressure of living up to the name of her mom Jaclyn and her father Mark Gil. But the 17-year old said her parents never made her feel that she has to measure up to what they have achieved. “It can’t be avoided that there’s a pressure for me because my parents are such good actors. They have made a name in the business, while I’m just a newbie and I’m still making my way. But my parents are also very loving and supportive of me, and they make me feel na there’s no need for me to be pressured. Even if they are my parents, I am still an individual. I have my own name and image to build.” Aside from Agua Bendita, which is reported to have been extended until August, Andi also has movie projects, one of which is the remake of the 1980s classic Temptation Island. “Tuloy na po ‘yung Temptation Island. It’s one of the three movies that I’ll be doing. Hindi ko pa nga lang sure kung kailan siya mag-start because for now I’m still concentrating on the movie I’m doing, a comedy with Eugene Domingo under Regal and directed by Joel Lamangan. Lalabas na this July. Meron nang title but I’m not sure if I can say it na.” First Posted: abs-cbn.com Watch Your Favorite Movies, Tv Shows, News And Sports Anytime You Want Here!
