John Lloyd Cruz considers playing a gay guy in his latest film In My Life, as his most daring role yet in his entire career. He explained during his interview on The Buzz that he did not have any inhibitions portraying a homosexual because it is fulfilling for an actor like him.

He is also said that he is deeply grateful to his co-star, Vilma Santos, who admitted that having the chance to work with Lloydy is one of the major factors why she accepted the movie project. Privileged to have worked with Ate Vi and Aga, Lloydy described these showbiz icons as more than generous co-stars.

The actor also admitted that playing a homosexual made him understand them more as people. “After doing this character—si Noel—nagkaroon na ‘ko ng tsansa na makasilip sa puso ng isang gay. And to tell you honestly, bilib ako sa kanila. Ang tingin ko ibang klase at hayop silang magmahal,” he explained. The Buzz host Boy Abunda asked the actor if he was ever courted by someone gay but John Lloyd answered no and clarified that he has no problems if ever a gay guy approaches him.

By the end of the interview, Boy tried to fish about the status John Lloyd’s current love life but the actor was very guarded with his answers. “Okay naman po siya, tumitibok-tibok naman po. Masaya naman siya,” was John Lloyd’s only comment.
