Students gathered at the San Jose University in Mandaluyong last March 3 as the lead stars of In My Life Vilma Santos, John Lloyd Cruz, and Luis Manzano together with Director Olive Lamasan attended the 2010 Gawad Tanglaw Awards, an award-giving body composed of members from the academe from various universities in the country. Not only was the said film hailed as Best Picture, the four Kapamilyas were also recognized as Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director, respectively.

John Lloyd for one was really overwhelmed by the crowd’s warm reception of their group. “First time ko ito to attend the awarding ceremony. Sabi ko nga nung umakyat ako ng stage, I’d love to come back kasi ramdam na ramdam ko kanina yung parangal. Sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Gawad Tanglaw awards pati na sa students and professors ng Jose Rizal University, maraming maraming salamat. Lahat kaming naging bahagi ng In My Life, sa likod at harap man ng camera, ay lubos na natutuwa dahil talaga namang pinaghirapan namin yun at proud kami na nagustuhan ito ng mga tao,” he said in a quick interview with ABS-CBN reporters.

Other Kapamilya celebrities who were spotted at the said event included the cast of Banana Split (Zanjoe Marudo, John Prats, and Jayson Gainza), the kids from Goin’ Bulilit as well as other TV personalities from the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs division such as Dyan Castillejo, Mark Nelson, Donita Rose, Bernadette Sembrano, Alex Santos, and Mario Dumaual.
