MANILA, Philippines – The new noontime television program “Pilipinas Win Na Win” made its grand debut show on Saturday.
“Pilipinas Win na Win” is led by Kris Aquino and hosted by Robin Padilla and former “Wowowee” mainstay female hosts Pokwang, Valerie Concepcion and Mariel Rodriguez.“Kung sinabi ni Robin na he’s back, I’m here to stay! Ito na po ang bagong mukha ng saya at pag-asa!” said Aquino.
During the show’s maiden airing, co-hosts Pokwang, Rodriguez and Concepcion revealed the many games and prizes in store for contestants.
“Marami po tayong inihandang gimmicks at sorpresa para sa inyong lahat dahil ang programang ito ay ginawa ng ABS-CBN para sa inyo,” said Aquino.
Meanwhile, the former celebrity talk show host of “The Buzz” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” could not hold back from teasing rumored couple Rodriguez and Padilla.
“Wait may napupuna ako. Umpisa pa lang ng show baka sabihing nang-aagaw na ako. Dito ka nga sa gitna,” Aquino motioned to Padilla to stand beside Rodriguez.
Among the big names in the showbiz industry who joined the show’s debut were Piolo Pascual, Christian Bautista, Jericho Rosales, Bb. Pilipinas 2009 Bianca Manalo, Karylle, Martin Nievera, Charlene Gonzalez, KC Concepcion, young stars Zaijian Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat, Queenie Padilla, Ejay Falcon, Juris, Duncan, and Boy Abunda.
“Swerte naman natin. On the last day of July ang pinaka-poging nilalang sa buong Pilipinas kapiling natin,” Aquino said of Pascual.
The entertainment and variety show seemed like an instant mini celebrity talk show after Aquino probed Pascual about his love life.
“Kasi wala na ako sa ‘The Buzz.’ Wala na ako sa ‘SNN’ so dito ko na lang itatanong. Simpleng tanong lang. Kamusta love life mo, Papa P?” asked Aquino.
To this, Pascual replied, “Steady naman”.
“Steady is better than wala. Maganda ang steady, relax lang. Mariel, sinasabi ko sa iyo pag kalmado, ‘yan ang tatagal,” Aquino advised Rodriguez.
Rodriguez jokingly asked Aquino, “Ikaw? Kalmado ka ba ngayon”. Aquino laughingly said, “Hindi. Ask me again next year.”
Before the program ended, Padilla gave Aquino and each of his female co-hosts a bouquet of flowers.
“Maraming salamat at natanggap mo ako na makasama. Matagal na panahon na hindi tayo nagkita. Maraming salamat at inaalalayan mo ako sa bago kong trabaho,” Padilla told Aquino.
Aquino also thanked all the people behind the new show.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa 3 girls for welcoming Robin and me to be part of your family. Sa ‘Win na Win’ dancers, thank you very much. Maraming salamat dahil nagbubuo tayo ngayon ng bagong pamilya.”
“This is the start of something new para sa ating lahat. Panibago po ito at sabay-sabay tayong matututo as the days go on. Sabay-sabay tayong mag-e-enjoy at sabay-sabay nating pasasayahin ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” Aquino said.
“Pilipinas Win Na Win” replaced ABS-CBN’s noontime show “Wowowee”, which aired its finale on Friday. The program is aired after “Showtime”.
The new show is managed by director Johnny Manahan, creative director Bobot Mortiz, business unit head Jay Montelibano, and executive producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato.
