MANILA, Philippines – After accepting Kris Aquino’s public apology, it’s now Ruffa Gutierrez’s turn to say sorry to senator and presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Noynoy, Kris’ older brother, has found himself dragged into the controversy involving Gutierrez and Kris after Annabelle Rama, Gutierrez’s mother, took potshots at the lawmaker.

In her official statement, Gutierrez clarified that her mom “has nothing personal against Sen. Noynoy and the Aquino family.”

“She never attacked the good senator’s character. She just expressed what she was feeling at that moment. Just like you and I, my mom has her own perspective and we should respect that. After all, we do live in a democracy,” the actress-host said.

“To Senator Noynoy Aquino, in behalf of my mom and the entire Gutierrez family, we sincerely apologize kung nasali po kayo sa isang babaeng usapin. Being the gentleman that you are, you will most probably just brush this off and laugh at our crazy show biz life. Let us put this episode to rest so you can focus on your campaign and everyone else can peacefully go back to work,” she added.

Gutierrez also apologized to Kris’ family, loved ones and fans. She said even closest of friends can have misunderstandings sometimes. She added that what’s important is that she and Kris were able to iron things out.

“Thank you to my family, friends and fans all across the globe for your unwavering support. To my haters and those that unfairly judge me, I thank you for you make me stronger. I promise to behave myself and continue to try to be a better mother, daughter, sister and lady. After all, no one’s perfect!” she said.

Gutierrez, who is moving to network TV5, and Kris will see each other again on March 14 when she bids farewell to “The Buzz.” Gutierrez said she will remember her 3 years on “The Buzz” “with great fondness.”

In her previous interview, Gutierrez has admitted that she got hurt by Kris’ remarks on “The Buzz” last Sunday about her decision to move to network TV5 that she decided to leave in the middle of the celebrity talk show.

Gutierrez said she wanted to go back on-air, but she was already “emotional” and could no longer proceed with the program. She also clarified that it was no walk-out.

Meanwhile, as Gutierrez busies herself with her upcoming film “Working Girls,” Kris, on the other hand, went to Zamboanga to campaign for her brother.
