Geneva Cruz was in the news once again when she admitted that she and KC Montero have separated. Geneva has not spoken about it but KC in an interview admitted that “they just grew apart” because, some speculated, Geneva was spending more time in the Philippines working on projects. While she was in the US, Geneva continued to be in demand for performances in the country. She will play exercise guru Brooke Wyndham in the Broadway musical Legally Blonde. Based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon, this all singing, all dancing, feel-good comedy musical is much anticipated.

Directed by Chari Arespacochaga, Legally Blonde The Musical runs from June 25 to July 18 at Meralco Theater. For details, call Atlantis Productions at 892-7078 or 840-1187.

Geneva opens up:

She’s Always A Woman To Me by Billy Joel.

Very much so. I’m generous, period.

3. If you have the chance to sing for one famous world figure, who would it be?

Our new president.

4. How often do you lie?

White lies are sometimes appropriate to do, so long as they don’t hurt people’s feelings.

To conquer the world through music.

6. What makes you cry?

Streetchildren.

7. If you can choose your name, what would it be and why?

I love my name but I like the sound of Allesandra, Nicole or Chanel.

8. What is your ultimate dream as an entertainer?

To conquer the world through my songs/music.

9. Three things you would like to do before you die?

10. Your life will be turned into one big musical. How would you title it?

Livin’ Geneva Loca.

11. What do you like most about your job? What don’t you like about it?

What I like is the freedom to express what I feel through songs. I don’t like the intrigues.

12. How do you handle fame?

I take it with a grain of salt and a shot of tequila… nah, it means nothing to me. I’m blessed.

13. If you have the power to solve all the problems in the country, what will you solve first?

Hunger and world peace.

14. The person who makes you laugh?

My son — everyone!

15. How do you say goodbye to a loved one?

I write about them…in a song.

Give it all to charity!

“If there’s a will, there’s a way.”

18. How would you like to be remembered?

Someone who was strong, independent and gracious.

19. What is your security blanket?

Heaven and my stuffed teddy.

20. What do you do when you are lonely?

I listen to Christmas music.

21. Do you believe in heaven? If yes, how do you get there? If no, why?

Yes, I do. I don’t need to look farther, I got my ‘heaven’ on earth.

22. If you go to hell, who do you want to be with you?

I hope I don’t but if I do, I would bring my cousin Mims with me…lol.

23. A genie is in front of you and you are to make three wishes. What would they be?

1.) World peace (seriously); 2.) Solve world hunger; and 3.) Love.

24. The most expensive item you bought for yourself?

My Cartier watches and bags which I’ve already stopped buying.

25. What is your favorite expression?

Wtfunk?! (what the funk?!) Oh my gulay, ay siomai or ay siokoy!

26. How do you spoil yourself?

I get a full-body massage and facial. That’s about it.

27. What other talent would you like to have?

How to listen to everyone’s conversations.

28. What is love?

Love is not a feeling, it’s an ability. (El amor no es un sentimiento, es una habilidad.)
